The House Was Burning Down

  • Summary

  • Living with guilt, the “survivors' guilt”. It’s one of the hardest topics to talk about or mention. Walking away from someone in your family or your friends to save yourself, will be one of the hardest decisions any individual would have to make. What would life be like if they actually cared? Not being allowed to express your emotions, always being tossed aside. No matter what you did mattered. Learning to walk in silence to the point where no one knew you existed. Learning how to survive, when you never felt safe. Even the ones closest to her who loved her, could see the pain in her eyes. Walking away, disappearing into the silence, she knew how to play the game well. To the point where no one understood how she recognized all the red flags. Many took her as a fool, always misunderstood her. Many kept playing their foolish games thinking it would destroy her, but it only destroyed them. “The House Was Burning Down” was taking every fire that destroyed every level of the house, To only build it with a stronger foundation. The foundation of God, no one could go through her without going through God First. Walking through the flames with a smile on her face, because even with grace on her side. She made it out alive with God on her side. You can underestimate me time and time again, but God will put me back together in front of the ones who hurt me. A stronger, wiser and more humble individual who will never charge because the world wants to see me with a cold heart.
