Dr. Denise Billen-Mejia is a retired physician turned consulting hypnotist, currently based in Wilmington, Delaware. Born and raised in Salisbury, UK, her journey in medicine and beyond has spanned continents, including studies and work in the USA, Canada, Belgium, the Dominican Republic, and more. After earning her MD and completing a residency and fellowship in pediatrics at St. Luke's Roosevelt Medical Center in Manhattan, she dedicated her career to blending traditional and holistic approaches to health.
With a lifelong passion for empowering others, Denise now focuses on using hypnotherapy to address issues such as performance anxiety, chronic pain, and stress-related conditions. She also collaborates with physicians to incorporate hypnosis into modern medical practice, bridging the gap between evidence-based medicine and complementary therapies.
Outside her professional work, Denise is an avid traveler, theatre enthusiast, and advocate for whole-food, plant-based living. She serves as a representative of the Baha'i Faith on the Delaware Council of Faith-Based Partnerships and enjoys cooking, reading, and walking. Her diverse background and dedication to well-being make her a unique voice in the field of hypnosis and health.
