    1. the state or quality of being proper, correct, and socially acceptable.

What started off as a random game of "name your taboo" quickly turned into revelations from growing up black and the respectability politics that come with it. Respectability Politics is defined as a set of beliefs holding that conformity to prescribed mainstream standards of appearance and behavior will protect a person who is part of a marginalized group, especially a Black person, from prejudices and systemic injustices. Some, in cultural settings, can be argued to be "Black Standards," but what implications do those have when we live amongst a broader society? From minding our manners, to respecting our elders, and even sharing salaries and how we raise our kids. We're constantly confronting our past experiences and learnings to determine our future. On this episode of The Multitasker Podcast, our hosts share their thoughts about some of the Black community's taboo topics and their real-life experiences with them.
