    Feb 8 2018

[Contains explicit content] It's called the Dark Web, Dark Net or Deep Web but what is it? What makes this internet underground — rife with drugs, sex, and crime — possible? How do you even access the Dark Web?

The Dark Web - exposed

Geoff White presents an excellent coverage of this intriguing topic with a superb balance of interviews. The technical detail and actual experience of people in the field give it credibility and my full attention! Well worth the time to hear this through, and inspiring to learn more. With appreciation for the effort to create this! Jennifer Elwin

Interesting and accessible

I really enjoyed this, the topic was interesting. I liked how White starts at the beginning and explains what the dark web is, and then explores the various things it is, and could be, used for. The question of freedom and anonymity online is a complicated one. In countries like the UK and Australia, where I have lived, we have the freedom to use the so called bright web without restrictions (provided your endeavours are legal ones). It's easy for us to think the dark web is only needed for criminals. There are times when anonymity has positive benefits though, some if which are discussed here.

I thought White did a great job of covering a large topic, and keeping the information accessible to those who don't have a tech background. I'll definitely be looking for more podcasts by Geoff White to listen to

Could have done without the interview at the end

The gentlemen interviewed in the group in the last episode who tried to very slyly shame the woman for writing what she wrote sucks. Clearly tried to get the last word in that if ‘she didn’t want to be harassed, be careful what you write online.’ Made it out to be about narcissism and pride when it’s HARASSMENT! Really undid the whole experience for me. Also, the ending question could easily be shredded by dark web users, they would retort, what is Good or Bad? Mostly eye-opening for us n00bs who don’t know anything about it, hopefully some young people will be persuaded to tread carefully.

Really informative

I know a lot more about the Dark Web now, and even more about the ordinary Web. Well paced and delivered, with some difficult concepts made very clear.
