The Busaiku Knee by Bryan Danielson (feat. Scotland of Black Guy Wrestling Podcast) | TSMS #20

  • Summary

  • Swerve’s holding the title If Bryan’s gonna take it he’s gotta hit the Busaiku Might take 4 like swinging for the cycle If he does, crowd volume is high as my FICO If not, heartbreak like 808s & taikos Lights out like a Tyco hit a light pole House Call from a psycho And just like that, say goodbye to my GOAT 1. What move did Bryan Danielson, then known as Daniel Bryan, use to beat HHH at WrestleMania 30? 2. What move did Bryan use to beat Batista and Randy Orton to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship? 3. Who is the LeBell Lock named after? 4. What does Busaiku mean? 5. Who did Bryan get the Busaiku Knee from? This episode’s signature move: The Busaiku Knee. At All Out, Bryan Danielson challenges Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Championship. Only the second time they’ve faced each other in a match. The 1st? Dynamite. October, 2023. Title Tuesday. Opening match. Winner earns a shot at then TNT Champion, Christian Cage. Hell of a match, too. Back & forth until Prince Nana threw his crown off and hopped on the ring apron to distract referee Aubrey Edwards. Swerve grabbed the crown off the apron. Hangman Page, out of nowhere, grabbed the crown from Swerve. Yada, yada, yada - and BOOM - Busaiku Knee off the skull of Swerve for the 1-2-3. At WrestleMania 30, Bryan used another move, The LeBell Lock, to win the WWE World Heavyweight title. A move lethal enough to tap Batista out 10 years ago but not strong enough to beat Swerve last year, when he reached the bottom rope and managed to compete for another 2 mins before taking the killshot, no pun intended. When Bryan goes for The LeBell Lock at All Out, I think the same thing happens. Not only because Swerve survived it once but because he’s only gotten stronger since then. On the other hand, in that first match, Bryan was strong enough to survive a House Call. And make no mistake about it, there will be a House Call attempt at All Out. But this Bryan is not that Bryan. This Bryan’s body is worn down. This Bryan has more concussions in the bank. And this Bryan is approaching the end of a full time wrestling career, if not the end of the road altogether. So, this Bryan’s formula is simple: avoid the House Call at all costs. Don’t be surprised when Swerve survives The LeBell Lock again, only this time with a smile on his face. Put the last ounce of power left into one last Busaiku Knee. And pray that it’s enough to keep Swerve down this time because if it isn’t, that will be the last Busaiku Knee that Bryan will ever attempt. + Connect with me: https://madebyaobaker.com/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@iamaobaker IG: https://www.instagram.com/iamaobaker/ X: https://x.com/iamaobaker
