TRU Beauty Confessions is a part of the EcoParent Podcast Network: www.ecoparent.ca/podcasts About the Episode:Michelle and Anna discuss what it means to be aligned with self even when it may be difficult to stick to the path, how the idea of beauty shifted for Anna from being called flat chested in Grade 6, to an introduction of beauty in the music industry during the era of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, eventually coming into her own and realizing her light comes from the inside to emphasis the external physical body. We talk about how simple breath can divert not only bad behaviour but bad photos. Anna explains how she was able to begin the reconnection with self and quiet the mental chatter, when a drummer in her band asked her to come to a yoga class. Anna offers simple, accessible yoga poses and breathing techniques to bring oxygen back to the skin, detox the body, and reduce inflammation. Anna allows us into her emotional space and personal growth in a very authentic and meaningful way. Bio:Polish, Canadian, singer, songwriter and performer. She has a smoky-pop voice, animated stage presence, and a sexy one-of-the-boys kind of personality that ranks up there with Gwen Stefani and Debbie Harry. Toronto’s own, Anna Cyzon is a bona fide rock star. Born in Krakow Poland, Cyzon came to Canada with her family in 1990. She attended the University of Toronto where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology. Her career in media began publicly when she auditioned for Canadian Idol in 2004. A former Top 20 Idol finalist, MTV Canada host, Cyzon represented her homeland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2010, placing second in the pre-selections with her song “Love Me" from herself titled independent debut. She’s since followed with the release of a 7 song EP, a full-length Polish and English album, Letters to Love, from which she started releasing singles in 2019. Her highly infectious “Wannabe", a collaboration with British- Canadian producer Alex Reid, can also be heard on Spotify and the music video (shot in Olon, Ecuador) has over 3 million views on YouTube. In December 2018, while finishing writing and recording L2L with long time friend and Toronto producer, La Flamme, Cyzon released “Mistletoe”, an original Christmas song she and La Flamme co-wrote. Following the original, there was also a cover of "Merry Little Christmas" (2019). But it wasn't until 2021 that Cyzon would release her most personal songs yet "Lay Your Body" and "Losing You", about her breakup. In addition, that year, she recorded and released a Polish duet, "Pierwszy Raz" with Pawel Nawrocki, and shot a music video in the city in which she was born. Cyzon is looking forward to continuing to release new material and share music with her fans. "Songs give me purpose. Hope my voice and lyrics resonate with the beat of your heart."Links:Instagram: @annacyzonInstagram: @cyzonyogaWebsite: cyzonmusic.comAbout Your Host Michelle Rosetta (Clinical Herbalist and Owner of BEE23 Natural Beauty)Michelle is a mother of four with over 20 years of experience in the health and beauty industry, inspired by her own sensitivities to synthetic ingredients in personal care products and a deep need to be good to the environment we share this world with.
