Colossians 3:19 says, “Husbands, love your wives and be gentle with them.”

It’s a sign of cherishing when we handle something with gentleness and care. Think of something that you really find valuable; something you own that is very meaningful or some item that you really love. Heirlooms or wedding rings. Your grandfather’s Bible or photo albums. You hold those things carefully and protect those things. You keep them safe. How much more would God have us treat the people we love that way?

Making the decision to change is a good thing, but being a gentle husband is a choice every man must make moment-by-moment, encounter-by-encounter with his wife.
