Super Bowl XXV: Whitney, Wide Right, and a Disney-fied Halftime Show

  • Summary

  • After a much needed break, we’re back for season 2 and kicking things off in 1991 with Super Bowl XXV.  The Buffalo Bills & New York Giants face each other in a Super Bowl that had a patriotic backdrop and a national anthem no one will ever forget. With the US entering the Gulf War, tensions were high at home and abroad. In front of over 73,000 fans there were several lead changes, no turnovers, and 2 legendary head coaches in a game that came down to the final seconds. We break down the contrasting styles of the Bill & Giants, the nostalgic commercials of the era, and the unique halftime show that made the NFL up their halftime game. We talk about what happened in the world that week, continuing our segment from season 1.

Since this is considered by many to be one of the greatest super bowls ever, it inspired a new segment on the show called the Top 5 where we compare our greatest Super Bowls that Da bears haven’t won. #dabears
