  • Prt.2 Foundation of a strong marriage
    Sep 27 2024

Welcome to Stray TV. In the previous episode, we talked about how we need to approach marriage and also how not to approach marriage. Well, in this episode, we will go over characteristics that will hurt and destroy our marriage. It is important that we gather these points and do an analysis.

One of the major issues discussed is the lack of empathy. This happens when a spouse doesn't want to understand or care about their partner's emotions, leading to emotional isolation. Lack of empathy also often leads to shallow emotional connections, where everything becomes transactional rather than genuine.

Another point covered is the constant need for admiration. This behavior can be draining for the spouse who feels pressured to provide endless praise and attention. It often overshadows the needs of the partner, making the relationship one-sided.

The episode also delves into the intolerance of criticism. When one spouse cannot handle criticism, it leads to communication breakdowns and unresolved conflicts, fostering an environment of arrogance and superiority.

Entitlement is another destructive trait discussed. An entitled spouse expects special treatment and often devalues their partner's opinions, leading to a lack of compromise and increasing resentment and conflict.

The episode further explores how manipulation and exploitation can erode trust in a marriage. A manipulative spouse may use their partner to meet personal goals without regard for their well-being, fostering feelings of being used and manipulated.

Finally, all these traits together often point to narcissism, which makes a healthy marriage impossible. Cracks in the relationship start showing even before marriage, and it's just a matter of time before it falls apart.

In conclusion, the episode emphasizes that no marriage is perfect, and learning from mistakes is crucial. It's essential to recognize and correct these destructive behaviors to build a stronger, more loving relationship. See you next time.
