  • 008 Inspections & Asbuilts - Commentary
    Jun 14 2021

It has been several weeks, actually months, since the release of the last episode. Sometimes life and a full-time career with nearly unlimited overtime combined with a young and busy family just get in the way. In any case, I am back and am excited to share with you my thoughts around inspections and as-builts. I share some of my experiences and my thoughts on how things continue to change throughout my career.

As I recorded and edited this episode, I realized how out of practice I am so please bear with me.

  • 007 Speaking Stormwater
    Feb 15 2021

Do you ever consciously consider the language you are speaking? Have you ever explained something to someone and had them look at you like they were lost, just nodding their head? Then this might be the episode you have been waiting for. I discuss my approach and my success of speaking a language that others understand - so much so that other engineers and past clients call me to ask questions because they don't understand something. It is one of the most rewarding parts of my job - helping others.

In the news segment this week we talk about a water treatment plant being hacked and how the war against cybercrime worldwide costs more than $1 trillion annually. We also circle back to the funding challenges Pennsylvania is having to meet the settlement from a 2010 lawsuit from the US EPA.

In the news this week, I talk about the cost of stormwater and how a Pennsylvania solar builder is paying $1.14 million in fines related to their 2018 construction project in Williamsburg, MA.
