Stacey Simms on lessons learned from 10 years of podcasting

  • Summary

  • When Stacey Simms’ son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes she turned to podcasts to learn more.

But when she couldn’t find what she was looking for her husband suggested she create her own show.

Nine years on and Diabetes Connections has more than 600 episodes. Stacey is also the host of Diabetes Connections Type 2, as well as the author of The World’s Worst Diabetes Mom and its sequel Still The World’s Worst Diabetes Mom.

I connected with Stacey over on Threads and in this conversation you’re going to hear what she would do differently if she were launching a podcast today, how she has successfully monetised her show and how she has connected with her listeners off air.

I’m Alison Fraser, host of Women Who Podcast, the show for side-hustling women who are ambitious but time-limited. Each week I bring you real life stories and actionable tips to help you create and grow your own podcast.
