They now feel forced to sell the visual images, and the True Names, of their basketball players to Epic Games. The contracted basketballers are obligated to participate in these sales, because of a "Fortnite Clause" in their contract.

Thanks to the NBA's financial troubles, LeBron James and his friends are now playable characters in Fortnite. 

While all profits from these Fortnite sales go to the NBA, LeBron James has gotten a fortunate deal out of the whole deal. LeBron will be making some extra cash over at Fortnite's newest five-star-genius-level production: Space Jam 2: Fortnite Frontier.
