  • Summary

  • The Slippery People Podcast: Join us as we explore the people that made the New York New Wave project Talking Heads what it was, and rock out to some great music!

Following the recording of the band's 4th album "Remain in Light" in 1980, Talking Heads knew that in order to have a chance at replicating the music live, they would need to expand their lineup, going from a 4-piece to a 9-piece. All of the touring musicians had an effect on Talking Heads, but what's most interesting is that a majority of these new members were black, and many had not ever even heard of Talking Heads before joining the live band. The new clash of cultures, arts, ideas, and music lead to some of the best sounds ever created in any genre.

Season 1 is dedicated to telling the story of touring bassist Michael "Busta" Jones!
