    Guest Bios:

    Alexandria Hoffman is a third-year fellow with Civic Orchestra of Chicago. In fall 2021, she will be joining the New World Symphony as a flute fellow. She has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and has appeared as a soloist with Yo-Yo Ma. Alex's passion for mental health led her to co-found Sound Mind in the fall of 2019. She maintains an active private studio and is a mentor for the Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative. In her free time, she enjoys running, biking, and playing with her dog, Barry. www.hoffmanflute.com

    Kevin Gupana is a freelance oboist in Chicago. He received his Bachelors in oboe performance at Roosevelt University's Chicago College of Performing Arts and his Masters in oboe performance from the University of Houston. In addition to performing, Kevin is Development Coordinator with Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras, an organization of which he is also an alumnus, and serves as a mentor with the Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative. Kevin is passionate about helping young musicians navigate the music world.

    Dan Monte comes from a long line of Portuguese and Canadian musicians settled in Southeastern Coastal Massachusetts. He deeply enjoys collaborating with other artists, and can be seen blissfully playing Off-Broadway (J2 Spotlight Theatre Comp.), and accompanying Modern & Improv Dance Classes (Rutgers University). Dan is also an avid composer of contemporary classical music, jazz, pop, and commercial music. Currently, Dan lives in New Jersey, where he produces the Move for Mind Podcast as well as the Sound Mind Podcast, and enjoys drinking coffee, cooking, and playing chess. montedan.com

    Mario Bastea-Forte is a musician and aspiring digital media creator from Albuquerque, NM. A classical cellist by training, he attended the Eastman School of Music and the University of Miami, where he began exploring his current interest in synths and music production as a composer. During the quarantine, Mario has enjoyed dabbling in drawing, coding and animation while taking an unexpected break from performing. He is very excited to have joined Sound Mind and is looking forward to inviting more artists to the conversation about mental health.
