  • Embracing Failure
    Mar 4 2024

This episode is all about how to deal with failure. More specifically, artistic failure. Just what is it about that fearof drawing wobbly lines that renders us paralyzed? And the whole reason I’m getting into this is because intuitive art requires a bit of bravery. In fact, all art requires a bit of bravery, but especially intuitive art because we are daring ourselves to scribble, to doodle, to splatter and potentially create nothing but a mess. So, I figured I’d come on here and chat with you about failure, about how we define it, how we can learn from it, and at the end I’ll leave you with a few exercises that will help you overcome your fear and to help you embrace the inevitability of that wobbly line.

Thank you to the Bladverk Band and Franz Gordon for the music, all provided by Epidemic sound. A big shout out and thank you to my patrons. You all rock and keep me brave! And thank you to you for joining me today. As always, Happy Scribbling!

  • The Origin Story of Intuitive Art
    Feb 19 2024

Hello, Hello, Bienvenue and so forth. Welcome to the very first episode of Scribble Chai: the podcast where we talk about all things intuitive art, from asemic writing to automatic drawing, and where I give the occasional interview to artists who have turned these techniques and belief-systems into a full-blown career. My name is Lina, and I hope today’s topic will inspire you to do some scribbling of your own.

This episode is going to be all about the history of intuitive art, which, when I first decided on the topic, I wasn’t aware of how many branches there are to this art form. I began to wonder if I’d bitten off more than I could chew! But I’ve managed to put together a nice little summary of events, complete with mentions of a few artists, poets, and even famous psychoanalysts that will give you an idea of how much this movement changed not only the artistic world, but also the world of psychology.

Thanks to Lars Meyer and the Bladverk Band from Epidemic Sound for the music in this episode.
