IT IS THE BELIEF THAT AMERICA IS A CHRISTIAN NATION-AND SHOULD BE GOVERNED AS SUCH THAT SOUNDS LIKE A THEOCRACY-A GOVERNMENT THAT THINKS (())IT IS DIVINELY ORDAINED—WHERE A DIETY IS THE SUPREME RULER THE ISSUES OF IMPORTANCE TO CHRISTIAN NATIONALISTS ARE: —IMMIGRATION —FREEDOM TO BEAR ARMS ---GENDER ROLES AND SEXUALITY —THE BANNING OF BOOKS ---CONTROLLING EDUCATIONAL CURRICULA —INCLUDING HISTORY —THEY SAY THE SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE IS A MYTH CHRISTIAN NATIONALISM DRAWS ITS POWER FROM THOSE WHO ADVOCATE BIBLICAL LITERALISM, FUNDAMENTALISTS, CHRISTIAN INDENTITY MOVEMENT, WHITE SUPREMISTS, AND THE NEWER ITERATION, CHRISTIAN TRUMPISM. THEOLOGIAN MICHAEL HORTON SAYS, "CHRISTIAN TRUMPISM REPRESENTS THE CONFLUENCE OF THREE TRENDS…AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM, END-TIMES CONSPIRACY, AND THE PROSPERITY GOSPEL."
