Season 2, Episode 2: Recognizing Power
Coming out of Season 1 of Mission Shift, we were left with a nagging question: In this new era of missions–when mission engagement is from everywhere to everywhere–how do we in the West partner well with believers in locations traditionally labeled as mission fields?
Once again, we set out to learn from missions leaders and practitioners from all over the globe. We interviewed 22 men and women engaged in sending and receiving missions to learn about partnership and power dynamics in global missions. Their voices are intertwined across the 8 episodes of this season as–together–we learn and grow.
In this episode, we continue our journey learning around this topic of power and partnership in global missions. As we hear from Andy McCullough (UK), Julie Mosse (USA), Milan Michalko (Czech), Layo Leiva (Ecuador), Alfie Mosse (USA), Barry Remple (USA), Brian Virtue (USA),and Greg Lillestrand (USA), we find our understanding of power in global missions to be challenged and expanded.
