  • Himiko is a large galaxy with a hot glowing gaseous halo extending over 55,000 light years. It was discovered in 2009 by Japanese scientists using Subaru Telescope's wide-field survey which has been surveying the night sky since 1999. In pictures, it looks like a "blob".
