He is the Associate Dean for Innovation and System Integration in the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine, and the Chairman and Herman J. Flax, MD Endowed Professor (tenured) of the Department of PM&R at VCU-School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia.

    Dr. Ron Gharbo completed his specialty residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at a top program at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He earned his medical degree at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio which promotes a holistic approach to practicing medicine. Dr. Gharbo is board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
