  • Episode 36 - Susie Bell - Ex-Mormom, Nurse, Bodybuilder, and Author of A Piece of Me
    Dec 5 2024

Today, we’re honored to share the incredible journey of Susie Bell - a woman who has faced unimaginable challenges and come out stronger, wiser, and more determined to live life unapologetically.

Susie’s story begins in a devout Mormon household, rooted in faith and tradition. She married her high school sweetheart at just 20 years old, and together they built a life in Las Vegas, raising six children and weathering unimaginable heartbreak, including the loss of her youngest child at only five weeks old.

For years, Susie was the epitome of dedication - to her family, her church, and her career as a nurse. But when her world began to crumble during the opioid epidemic, Susie turned to an unexpected outlet: bodybuilding. What started as a distraction quickly became a passion, propelling her to national stages and magazine covers.

But life threw even more at Susie. A failing marriage, an affair, divorce, excommunication from her church, bankruptcy, and foreclosure could have easily broken her. Instead, Susie rebuilt herself from the ground up, earning her nurse practitioner degree, opening her own practice, and redefining what it means to live authentically.

Today, Susie’s journey is far from over. She’s faced heartbreak, setbacks, and reinvention in the dating world, all while learning what it means to truly be herself. Her story is one of resilience, self-discovery, and living life on her own terms.

Get ready to be inspired, challenged, and uplifted as we dive into Susie Bell’s journey of transformation on another amazing episode of Rule 42!

  • Episode 34 - Kim Davis - Star of the True Crime Pocast Slaycation!
    Nov 14 2024

Our guest today on Rule 42 is Kim Davis – the host of the gripping true crime podcast – Slaycation. A mom, cancer survivor, dedicated crafter, and proud New Yorker with a passion for storytelling. Kim’s background is as diverse as it is impressive, with a history in performing arts that spans dance, theater, film, and publishing. But beyond her creative pursuits, she’s also made a significant impact as a social worker specializing in domestic violence, giving her a front-row seat to some of the darkest sides of human behavior.

Despite the heaviness of that work, Kim’s true passion lies in true crime. From her early days binge-watching First 48 and Forensic Files, she’s been fascinated by the genre, with a book collection that resembles a mini crime library. Though she sometimes wishes she’d become a crime scene investigator, Kim has instead poured her investigative energy into her own true crime podcast.

This podcast is a collaborative effort with her comedy writer husband, Adam, and longtime friend, Jerry. Kim meticulously researches each case, leading listeners through stories that captivate and horrify, all in a quest to understand the psychology behind true human evil. While that answer may still elude her, Kim’s enthusiasm and dedication make every episode an unforgettable experience.

Join us as we dive into Kim’s world—one filled with creativity, resilience, and a never-ending fascination with the mysteries of true crime.
