Rui Ma is the founder of Euzen Labs, a venture lab focused on technology for wellbeing and human flourishing. She is also an angel investor and advisor to several startups and funds, including UNICEF Innovation Fund and Zeroth AI Accelerator. She has fifteen years of experience in technology and finance, spanning seed stage to pre-IPO investing. She is a former Investment Partner, head of Greater China and global head of fundraising at 500 Startups, a global seed fund and startup accelerator. Prior to 500, she worked for nearly a decade in private equity and mergers & acquisitions roles at the Raine Group, Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch in both Silicon Valley and China. Rui holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley, a Masters in Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an Executive MBA from INSEAD and Tsinghua University and is a candidate for an ALM in extension studies with a focus in Psychology from Harvard University. She writes and speaks frequently about technology and is a regular contributor to leading business media. She is also active in philanthropy and currently runs Rookie.Fund, a nonprofit student venture fund network in Asia.
