  • Bryan Bottarelli: Embracing Risk to Live a Richer Life
    Jun 2 2023

Today's conversation is about risk. Risk is ever present in our lives. Every decision we make involves risk and the outcomes that we create all are in relationship to the amount of risk that we're willing to take and how we manage that risk.

Bryan Bottarelli is an expert in teaching people to have a healthy relationship with risk. He is the Head Trade Tactician and Founder of Monument Traders Alliance and runs a trading room called the War Room, which is a live, interactive trading room.

But his fascination with risk started young and never stopped.

Whether it was selling the Star Wars figures he collected as a little boy for 50 times their value or using $125 of grass-cutting money to buy a Michael Jordan rookie card that he later sold for $1,500, it was clear Bryan Bottarelli was a born trader – possessing the unique ability to identify opportunities and leverage those investments.

Graduating with a business degree from the highly rated Indiana University Kelley School of Business, Bryan got his first job out of college trading stock options on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE). There he was mentored by one of the country’s top floor traders in the heart of the technology boom from 1999 to 2000 – trading in the crowded and lively Apple computer pit. Executing his trades in real time, Bryan learned to identify and implement some of his most powerful trading secrets… secrets that rarely make their way outside the CBOE to individual traders.

Today, he instructs hundreds of thousands of readers and followers to embrace and use risk to create extraordinary outcomes in life.

  • Shannon Graham: Space Travel, The Overview Effect and Visionary Leadership
    May 19 2023

This week I sat down with Shannon Graham, the first person I've ever known who has a ticket to go into space. He's also the Founder of a space company. Astranaut is the first company ever created to take visionaries to space to experience The Overview Effect and help them integrate their subsequent vision for humanity into action.

For the last 20 years, Shannon has been a success mentor to visionary founders running incredible companies and changing the world. He's the founder of a multi-year, peak performance coaching program he calls Legacy, where he works with founders to fully establish and live out the full potential of their business, of their leadership, and of their impact.

Shannon is the author of a book called The Expanded Leader. According the Graham, "The expanded leader is one who leads from wholeness and overflow rather than emptiness and sacrifice. The result is an organization built as a function of the leader's wholeness potential and full expression.

From the depth of these founding elements comes the creation of a culture that leads to even more richness, innovation and creativity. The resultant shift transcends the organization to have global impact, transforming competition into collaboration and helping leaders realize the fulfillment that comes from having amazing experiences in and of their own lives.

Leadership is not intended to be a restrictive box that imprisons you. It is intended to be a framework for expansion for both the leader and the organization."

If you are a leader or you aspire to be a leader in your own life or a leader in your business, Shannon shares the gives insights, tools and frameworks he uses to coach and support the luminaries that he serves.

  • Tony Schwartz: Overcoming Regret, Self-Acceptance and Managing Energy to Live a Full Life #18
    Apr 27 2023

Today's conversation is with Tony Schwartz. He's the New York Times best-selling author who's written 6 books and the Founder and CEO of The Energy Project. A firm that helps individuals and companies skillfully manage their energy in a world of relentlessly rising demand and complexity.

Tony started his career as a journalist, and the first book he wrote was "The Art of the Deal" which he co-authored with Donald Trump. The decision to write that book is something that Tony went on to deeply regret. That experience prompted him to take an entirely different path in his life.

It led to a lifelong investigation of the factors that shape our beliefs and identity, the influence of our early caregivers and the ways that we can heal and grow by accepting and acknowledging both the best and worst in ourselves.

Tony has a an amazing body of work that we talk about at great length. including how energy relates to our own transformation, how, by understanding the different sources and types of energy inside us, we can better manage our relationships and how much we accomplish in life.

We talk about the danger of looking for value from the outside world rather than inside ourselves.

We talk about how his childhood and upbringing led to so much of what he came to discover about the human condition. But ultimately what he came to describe as defenders that develop inside each of us and are on aspect of the parts of ourselves we tend not to like.

We also talk about the three different selves that make up our personality and why understanding Those different parts of our personality is a path to a very rich life indeed.

This was one of my all-time favorite conversations. It is exceedingly rare to find someone as insightful about the human condition as Tony Schwartz.

  • Marian Tupy: How much BETTER or WORSE is the world getting? #16
    Apr 13 2023

Marion Tupy is the founder and editor of www.human progress.org and a senior fellow at the Cato Institute. He's also co-author of the Simon Abundance Index.

He specializes in globalization and global wellbeing and is co-author of a recent book called "Superabundance, the Story of Population Growth, Innovation, and Human Flourishing on an Infinitely Bountiful Planet. His articles have been published in The Financial Times, The Washington Post, the LA Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Atlantic, and many more. And he's appeared on the BBC, CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, Fox News and many other channels.

Marion's research and conclusions run counter to most of what we hear in the news about the direction of our planet and the direction of our civilization. He and his partner studied 200 years of data to show the actual facts about the progress of humanity and the level of flourishing and abundance we currently have.

We discuss a concept for measuring abundance which he calls "time price" and also talk about whether the planet can sustain the current population at its growth rate. We discuss As you'll see, Marion's data says a lot about the richness of life that we currently have and may be looking to have in the future. I hope you enjoy this conversation because it's certainly helped to shape my perspective.
