Welcome to the first season of the Revolts Podcast. In this first season, we will cover the anti-Norman insurrection led by Hereward from 1070 to 1071. But before we dive into the revolt, I think it's important for us to develop an understanding of the cultural makeup of England in the 1070s. So today we will dive into the fall of Roman Britain, the emergence of the English Kingdoms, and the start of the Viking Age taking particular note of the connections between the English Kingdoms and their network of connections around the British Isles, across the channel and over the North Sea.
