State Library of Western Australia -SLWA

     John and Ray Oldham.

The Oldham’s made a significant contribution to the preservation of Perth’s built heritage and environment in the mid twentieth century. They were early conservationists recognising the value of Western Australia’s unique heritage and the importance of connection with our landscape. John, Landscape Architect, designed many of the landscapes we now take for granted around the city of Perth and beyond. Ray, a writer & journalist and collaborator with John’s landscape design. The State Library has a large private archive collection relating to the Oldhams and it is now undergoing some exciting conservation work in our preservation lab.
