    Dec 19 2025

The shocking termination of Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore has dominated the headlines, but beneath the sports scandal lies a profound psychological phenomenon: Limerence. In this video, we break down the reports from USA Today and Sports Illustrated to analyze the behavior leading up to Moore’s firing. From the alleged years-long affair to the reports of stalking and the "kitchen scissors" incident, we look at these events through the lens of relationship psychology. Was this just a lapse in judgment, or was it the destructive cycle of limerence?

What You’ll Learn in This Video:
The 3 Stages of Limerence: Understanding Infatuation, Crystallization, and Deterioration.

Why Good People Make Bad Decisions: How brain chemistry changes during an obsessive affair.

The Reality of Stalking in Limerence: Why the person "left behind" often resorts to desperate, unrecognizable behaviors.

Hope for Marriage Recovery: Can a marriage survive a public scandal and limerence? (The answer might surprise you).

What is limerence in a relationship? Limerence is a state of involuntary obsession with another person. It involves intrusive thoughts, an intense desire for reciprocation, and can lead to irrational behavior that the person wouldn’t normally exhibit.

How long does limerence last? Typically, limerence lasts between 18 months to 3 years. As seen in the Sherrone Moore case, once one partner enters the "deterioration" phase while the other is still in "crystallization," it often leads to conflict or stalking.

Can a marriage survive limerence and an affair? Yes. While the process involves a difficult "grief period" for the unfaithful spouse, many marriages can be rebuilt to be stronger than they were before the affair began.

  • What To Do If You JUST Got Served Divorce Papers
    Dec 11 2025

Enjoy the episode? Send us a text!

Getting served divorce papers can feel like the final blow, but it doesn’t have to be the end of your marriage. If you’ve just received the filing, you are likely feeling panic, fear, and anger. In this video, we break down exactly what you need to do immediately to stay sane, protect yourself, and maximize your chances of saving your marriage.

Just because your spouse filed for divorce does not mean it is over. Divorce is an event, not the end of the story. We see couples save their marriages even after papers have been served.

In this video, we cover the 5 crucial steps to take right now:

Regulate Your Nervous System: Learn the "Box Breathing" technique (4-4-4-4). Set alarms for 8:00 a.m., Noon, and 6:00 p.m. to do this for 3 minutes. This resets your amygdala and stops the fight-or-flight response.

Process Your Emotions: Don't bottle it up. Write down every thought, fear, anger, and resentment on paper. Getting it out of your head helps it lose power over you.

Analyze Your Decision: Create a Pros and Cons list. Think beyond today... how will this divorce affect you in 10 months or 10 years? Consider the impact on your children, finances, and future.

Find the Right Lawyer: You need legal protection, but you must find a lawyer who isn't "vicious." Find someone who will defend you financially and regarding custody, but who also respects your desire to save the marriage and won't use your children as pawns.

Seek Expert Guidance: The average divorce costs $25,000–$30,000, plus the emotional cost. Consider investing that energy into saving the relationship instead. Marriage Helper has worked with over 25,000 clients and has a 70% success rate with our workshops.

Why You Should Watch: If you are asking, "My wife filed for divorce, what do I do?" or "My husband served me papers, is it over?" this video is your roadmap. We explain why filing is often a cry for help or a reaction to pain, rather than a final door closing.

  • What NOT To Say To Your Husband When You Make More Than Him
    Nov 6 2025

Enjoy the episode? Send us a text!

If you’re a woman who makes more money than your husband, this video is for you.

This dynamic is becoming more and more common—but many couples are struggling silently with the tension it can create. The goal of this video is not to shame success, ambition, or calling. It’s to help you protect your marriage while you continue pursuing the work you feel called to do.

I’ve been the primary income earner in my own marriage for nearly a decade. I know the pressure, the guilt, the loneliness, and the internal tug-of-war that can come with it. And I also know how easy it is to unintentionally say or do things that leave your husband feeling disrespected, unseen, or pushed away—even when that was never your intention.

Today, I’m sharing 3 things you should not say to your husband when you earn more than he does—and what to do instead so that your marriage can feel like a true team again.

Because your marriage can stay strong.
You can be successful and connected at home.
You don’t have to choose one or the other.

    In this video, you’ll learn:

    • Why earning more can trigger insecurity in your spouse (and what to do with that)
    • How to communicate without diminishing your spouse’s role or contribution
    • What to say instead of “you’re not doing enough”
    • How to rebuild respect, connection, and emotional intimacy—starting today

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, executive, leader, or professional woman—this message matters. And you are not alone.
