But beneath its sweetness lies a deceptive nature that wreaks havoc on our physical and mental health. In this episode, we'll explore the addictive nature of sugar and its impact on our brains, the connection between sugar and inflammation, and the alarming link between excessive sugar consumption and conditions like type 2 diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and even cancer. Join me as we uncover the truth about sugar and learn how to break free from its grip.

  • The Impact of Fad Diets

    In this episode, we're diving deep into the damage caused by fad diets. We'll explore the physical and psychological impact of restrictive diets, and discuss the negative language we use when it comes to food. But it doesn't end there - we'll also unpack the prevalence of unhealthy food choices and the addictive nature of processed foods. 

     

    However, there is hope! We'll explore a path toward true health and nourishment that goes beyond calorie counting and guilt. It's about embracing a holistic approach and listening to our body's wisdom. I'll also introduce my Nourish Me for Life program, which focuses on mindset as a key element in finding freedom from destructive eating habits.

     

    Here are the highlights:

     

    • (02:48) Constant food dialogue consumes our lives, causing restriction, guilt, anxiety, and impact on mental well-being.

    • (05:00)] The foods we consume can stimulate dopamine, leading to addiction. Similar to alcohol or drugs, these additives are designed to make us crave more. 

    • (08:18) A client had a strong sugar dependency due to a childhood reward system. We worked together to address the root cause, and now she no longer craves sugar.

Inspired by my approach to food and wellbeing, Kelly decided to invest in themselves after experiencing health issues and a pre-diabetes diagnosis. We discuss the damaging effects of diet culture and the power of creating food freedom. Discover how proper nutrition and self-care can have a profound impact on overall health and wellbeing.   Kelly is no longer pre-diabetic and as a result of making better health choices she has lost over 30 pounds.
