The prosecution in the George Floyd case was phenomenal. We could not be more impressed with their expertise and passion in convincing the jury that Derek Chuvin was guilty of murder. What's crazy is that many people don't realize just how often police murder innocent people of color. Murder by the hands of cops is all too familiar to those in the black and brown community. It's always been there and likely will continue to happen despite the guilty conviction of Chuvin. It's crazy because the number one thing you hear cops say they care most about is there family...as if the people they put into custody and kill don't care about theirs?
Those in law enforcement are people and should not be above the law. Cops who have had numerous reports of misconduct and violence should not be allowed to simply transfer. JTufts believes that if a cop kills an innocent person that their pension should go to the family of the victim. At the end of the day, it comes down to knowing the game. Black and brown men need to walk out of the door understanding that they can encounter a cop and not make it back home. Racism is and will always be the reason for inequality in America. We've got people like Tucker Carlson on TV using his position of power to push his personal beliefs to those who would prefer racism if that means preventing diversity. Sick
