What happens when you undermine authority? The answer is a significant number of things. Part II, with Dr. Lindsey Vance, Ph.D., explores how power can be disrupted through our actions and beliefs. It’s called SUBVERSION. Subverting describes how we undermine authority and how we can inadvertently cause friction by showing up for ourselves.

Undoubtedly, it takes power and certainty to undermine an individual or institution. But how does epistemology drive subverting? What does this look like for you?

This episode delves into acts of subversion and their impact on various scenarios with examples from the Daily Show Reporting, Sandra Bland's traffic stop, the storming of the capital on January 6, 2021, the politicization of the late Dr. Maria Goodloe-Johnson’s pregnancy, and resistance of the late Hilton Head resident Josephine Wright who refused to sell her land to corporate developers.
