Purpose in Power

By: Lupe Leon Guadalupe Leon
  • Summary

  • We are all leaders in our own ways (within our family, business, community) and some of us have launched into or are chosen to lead teams to execute bigger things. Executives come in different shapes, sizes and forms and they may not always look or sound the way our unconscious biases expect them to look like or sound like. Moreover, the world of an executive can often feel a bit lonely and isolating because it's more difficult to find others with whom we can talk and share ideas and experience. It's also more difficult to get and receive candid constructive feedback on how we are occurring and being as executive leaders from our teams and organizations. And so, this podcast was created with the intention of creating a community and forum for like minded executive leaders at all stages of their executive journey and from all different industries and backgrounds in which we can share our unique executive journeys, our success stories as well as our trials and tribulations as leaders, to learn from each other and support one another in becoming more “heart-centered”, “empathetic" leaders. Join Lupe Leon each week as she interviews executives about their own journeys and the kinds of practices and frameworks they have discovered to be most effective in how they lead to make an even bigger positive impact for their teams, organizations, customers, and communities.

  • Karen Wickre: Taking the Work Out of Networking
    Nov 12 2021

Karen is a veteran connector, editor, and communicator, and has worked in and around Silicon Valley long enough to have appeared in WIRED 1.4. (Even before that, she wrote one of the very first guides to what we used to call “the World Wide Web,” now an amusing relic of a more innocent time.) As a corporate writer, she has developed stories, styles and cadence for Google, Twitter, and many startups. As an early Googler (she joined when there were 500 employees and left nine years later, when there were 50,000), she’s been in her share of war rooms and fire drills, and has crafted scores of posts covering products and pivots, shakeups, corporate apologies and company culture. More recently she’s advised a range of companies that want a strategy (or a reality check) on their messages and the content they produce.
