  • Ep 28: All that Physical Labor made Quasimodo Buff
    Oct 19 2024

The Hunchback of Notre Dame was originally a novel by Victor Hugo, the same man who brought us Les Misérables. In 1996, Disney took this story and made it into a movie, and that is what we are discussing today. From the intention behind Quasimodo's name to Frollo's obsession with Esmeralda, we discuss our way through the movie with a spooky purple cocktail.

  • Ep 27: Caramel Apples and the Much Needed Spin Offs
    Oct 5 2024

This week, Kari is back to discuss the sequel to the cult classic, Hocus Pocus. In this episode, we discuss the true victim of this movie, Mayor Traske, who just wanted to enjoy his caramel apple in his pumpkin sweater but was consistently thwarted. We also decide that we need a buddy cop spin off with Billy during his 29 years of accidental consciousness, because what else was he doing???This movie was the over the top, exaggerated, campy vibes that we loved in the original, brought to life more intentionally almost three decades later. In honor of Mayor Traske, we paired this with a Spiced Caramel Apple. So pour one out for him, and then make a second to enjoy with us!

  • Ep 24: The Power of Kindness with Cinderella
    Aug 24 2024

A star studded cast, a powerful message, stunning visuals. This is the 2015 Live Action remake of Cinderella. This was the OG Princess live action and it is one of the best ones because instead of a scene by scene remake, the creators did a lot of reimagining of the story. We discuss everything from why this is one of Piff's favorite princesses to the historical fairy tale (did you know this isn't based on the Grimm's story) and everything in between. • Ep 23: The Logical and Horrible Adults of the Cheetah Girls (Part 2)
    Aug 17 2024

In the second part of our Cheetah Girls episode, we spend a lot of time talking about the adults in this movie. From how surprisingly sleazy we finally saw Jackal to be (how did we miss that as teenagers) to the way that the parents were parenting the crap out of these situations. Watching this movie as adults really opened our eyes to things that we didn't catch or understand as kids, but it also gave us newfound respect for how certain situations were handled. We also go down a few rabbit holes assigning lore to various characters, such as what each cheetah would drink once they hit the adult scene, how the moms knew each other, and what jackal's intentions really were. This is just part 1 of our cheetah girls chatter, so make sure you subscribe so you know when the next part is out!
