  • Nel mese di giugno del 1934, due cercatori d'oro, impegnati in prospezione minerarie sulle montagne di San Pedro, nel Wyoming, si imbatterono in una piccola e profonda caverna, scavata nel fianco roccioso di uno dei rilievi. All'interno, i cercatori fecero una scoperta sorprendente: i resti, relativamente ben conservati ma sicuramente molto antichi, di un minuscolo essere umano.
