Het dagblad Le Monde nam de financiële onderbouwing door van de partijprogramma's en kwam tot de conclusie dat echt geen enkele partij het financiële plaatje kloppend heeft. Vaak worden lukraak bedragen genoemd zonder logica, of onderbouwing, en vooral ook onder gène. De overheidsfinanciën in Frankrijk staan er slecht voor, maar het lijkt of de partijen daar geen boodschap aan hebben.
