  • Sarah Merrick is the founder and CEO of UK-based wind energy startup Ripple Energy. Ripple Energy has a unique business model of offering wind and solar power ownership through co-operatives. This means that through Ripple, retail customers can buy a part of a solar park or wind farm and enjoy zero-carbon electricity. It’s definitely an exciting way to fund wind and solar energy production. This year Ripple has had 8,000 new members join in their largest project to date and they raised over £20M to fund their first solar park. In the interview, Sarah shares how she founded Ripple and how wind energy has grown from a niche resource to now accounting for 24% of total electricity generation in the UK.
