Orchestrating the delivery of Australia's nuclear submarines, with Sir Nick Hine of Babcock

  • Summary

  • In this episode, Grant McHerron talks with Sir Nick Hine, Managing Director of Babcock’s new AUKUS & International division, about creating and supporting a nuclear submarine capability in Australia.

We discuss the role that Babcock plays in supporting Australian nuclear submarines, and their goal to expand our sovereign capability through their new division for AUKUS & International. Nick also gives us his perspective on what infrastructure is required for nuclear submarines in Australia, as well as the regulatory and safety frameworks required to operate them.

We also explore the timeline for the initiative, as well as the need for knowledge, skill and collaboration to deliver the submarines.
