Michelle Murchison stayed in Corporate America for the insurance benefits. Diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at 18-months old, she knew she couldn't take a day off between jobs and worked for the insurance coverage more than anything. But when she lost her job in the pandemic, she took the opportunity to seize her dream Occupation, Children's Book Author. Michelle's first book "Stars on My Knees" is kind of autobiographical and is illustrated in the reflection of her relative who is Brazilian American. Michelle tells her own story as a little girl who underwent many surgeries and medical procedures due to her early diagnosis with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JIA). Her Obstacle became her inspiration and she hopes her books shows other children their scars are also part of life and normal in the journey of being human. Michelle discusses the mental impacts chronic illness and ongoing medical procedures can have on a person and how therapy has helped her face the impact head on. She calls her self Robo Girl and explains why she decided to lean into her health story and share it with others.
