On episode 10 of my Pharmacy podcast, OVERxDOSE, Dr. Jake Goodman is a resident Physician specializing in Psychiatry with over 1.3 M followers across social media. I met Jake while creating my podcast and instagram (which you should totally follow). I watched how Jake utilized social media and his passion for medicine to raise mental health awareness through creative, educational, and entertaining videos on Instagram and Tik Tok. In the last year, he's amassed over 1 Million followers and at this point, millions of views/likes on his videos, and has successfully adapted at every turn of his social media journey. Learn from us which social media platform you should start on if you plan on creating content, and how to go about growing your following on instagram while maintaining professionalism and staying true to yourself and your mission. We both came from humble beginnings, aim to promote mental health through social media, and help pre-meds and pre-pharms navigate the process of applying to school and how to maintain their sanity while going through professional school. Jake has always been an inspiration and motivation for me to keep creating and I know he will be for you too. So it's with great honor I bring to you, my first ever video recorded episode with Dr. Jake Goodman (@jakegoodmanmd). Learn about Donate Life Month and a Pharmacists' (Dr. Tyler Tinkham's)role in Solid Organ Transplants (SOT)as special co-host Mike LaPorte and I interview Patricia Dean. Patricia is a 2-time liver transplant recipient at VCUHealth and has made it her mission to clear the transplant waiting list after her life-saving surgery. To do this, she became the Community Education Coordinator at LifeNet Health, an organization providing organ, eye and tissue donation education throughout the community. Their goal is to drive every Virginian to the registry, and OVERxDOSE is more than happy to help them complete their mission by covering some of the myths surrounding organ donation. But, this isn't possible without YOU!
