  • Tiburcio Arnaiz Muñoz nació en Valladolid el 11 de agosto de 1865, en el seno de una modesta familia de tejedores. Dos días después, sus cristianos padres, Ezequiel y Romualda, lo llevaron a bautizar a la iglesia parroquial de San Andrés, imponiéndole el nombre del santo del día.
    Con sólo cinco años quedó huérfano de padre, y su madre hubo de ingeniárselas para educar y sacar adelante a los dos hijos: Gregoria y Tiburcio.
