    The body's natural response to a traumatic or stressful event is to return to a state of homeostasis, or balance. However, some people may remain in a state of imbalance. Somatic therapies can help people navigate this process and return to a more balanced state

    Somatic reflex an involuntary response to a stimulus, such as pulling your hand away from a hot stove. This is a motor response to a sensory stimulus, and is controlled by the somatic nervous system. Somatic symptoms Physical symptoms that can't be fully explained by a medical condition. These can include gastrointestinal issues, body pain, chest pain, dizziness, and fatigue.
