No Salary Cap, No Problem

By: Tyler Thalgott
  • Summary

  • Baseball is naturally unfair. Most teams have a severe disadvantage over the few teams at the top. These teams, the Dodgers and Yankees, have as much as 175 million dollars more in player spending than lowly teams. We will focus on the bottom third of the MLB payroll list, the small and weak spenders. Teams like the Mariners and Rays were extremely successful last season, yet had light payrolls. These teams employ strategies few other teams employ and focus on cheap farm systems better than any other in the league. Follow and listen weekly to keep updated on the natural underdogs of the MLB.
