After growing up with a father who had schizophrenia and then losing his father to suicide, years later he found himself again dealing with loved ones with serious mental illness – a son with schizoaffective disorder and a son with bipolar disorder. Richard shares his inspiring story of navigating challenges and struggles, coping, healing, and helping others. Richard Lynch is a married father of 5. He holds an MA in Clinical Psychology. He is a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGS), and certified in EMDR therapy. He is the AD of Programming in a 328 bed Department of Corrections (DOC) Substance Abuse Program, and operates a small private practice, primarily focusing on grief therapy for the family members of overdose victims. Richard operates a volunteer ministry called Spread the Word where he has conducted 113 funerals for families without a church or Pastor. He is also a writer, currently working on publishing his first book under his pen name Gator Lee. He can be found on Facebook, Instagram aka Gator Lee, or tik tok under LeanOnYourPeople. He also has a podcast in development under that same name that will hopefully be airing within the next couple of months.
