Today on the Straight Truth Podcast, Dr. Richard Caldwell and Dr. Josh Philpot discuss how Christians can navigate and respond to the cultural and moral chaos around them with a steady and sure biblical perspective. To do this, believers must be rooted and grounded in the Word of God, holding firmly to a biblical worldview. As they reflect on the moral insanity in society, they mention how issues like political strife, social disorder, and even disagreement and division in the church contribute to our sense of stress and unease. They remind us that God’s Word teaches us that where there is sin, there is disorder, and along with disorder comes chaos. And where these are, there will be increased feelings of stress, anxiety, and unrest, even among believers. But rather than reacting impulsively with anxiety and despair to cultural shifts and upheavals, believers must be intentional about approaching the times with a biblical mindset using the Scriptures as their guide. They note that, historically, society has faced similar challenges, and Scripture has always provided the blueprint for faithful living, regardless of what’s happening all around us. They point to examples from the New Testament, where all kinds of sexual immorality, idolatry, murder, and hatred were going on during the writers lifetimes, just as they are in ours. Yet believers were called to live faithfully, regardless of the prevailing culture. This remains true for Christians today; it is no different, our marching orders never change. Dr. Caldwell and Dr. Philpot also address the issue of living in the "last days," the period of time between Christ’s ascension and His return.
