  • Poon Lim holds the world record for longest survival at sea on a life-raft. Whilst working on a British freighter, it was hit by the Germans with torpedoes. In two minutes the ship sank. Poon leapt overboard and found himself floating 250 miles away from land. After two hours, he found a life-raft. Poon climbed aboard and started 133 days of survival.
