How do you respond in moments of crisis?
Pastor Bob teaches an inspiring message on Jehoshaphat, who although he was an accomplished king, freely admitted he didn't know what to do in crisis, but his eyes were on God and His deliverance.
Jehoshaphat:
- Fourth king of the separate kingdom of Judah
- The son of Asah: bright lights against the dark paganism that existed during their time.
- 35 years old when he became king, and he reigned 25 years in Jerusalem
- "His heart was devoted to the ways of the Lord" 2 Chr. 17:6
- He abolished pagan idolatry
- He sent teachers to the people to teach them God's Word. 2 Chron 17:9
- He turned the hearts of the people back to the Lord.
Crisis:
- A massive invasion mounted by the Moabites, and Ammonites, and Meunites (From beyond the sea, meaning the Dead Sea, where Sodom had stood).
- They were already at En Gedi -- which was only about 38 miles from Jerusalem.
We must remember that although Satan's name is infrequently mentioned in the Old Testament, he and his legions had stirred up the hearts of this vast army to bring the work of God in Judah to a bloody conclusion.
We can learn important lessons from how Jehoshaphat responded to his country's crisis. (2013)
May God bless you through this message!
