Mirrors: Horrors, History & Hauntings

By: Gabby Frye
  • Summary

  • Mirrors: Horrors, History & Hauntings is a paranormal podcast from writer Gabby Hope Frye. Episodes explore haunted places around the world: physical places that reflect the past and twist the present, blurring the lines between reality and illusion. Along the way, Gabby will document her investigations, while detailing the history and unexplained encounters that drew her to each location.

Season 1 centers around the state of Pennsylvania, which has far too many ghost stories for its own good.

  • The Grand Midway Hotel
    Oct 1 2024

The Grand Midway Hotel, located in the historic town of Windber, PA, is a place of mystery. A potential portal for spiritual activity. Its entire roof is a Ouija Board, it is home to the largest Tarot Card, and it is full of haunted objects. And that's all on top of the stories attached to the building, such as the alleged murder of a sex worker in the infamous Canopy Room and an unsolved murder in the Titanic-themed bar. Listen to hear all about The Grand Midway and my experiences staying there overnight. You'll also hear about the Spiritualist Movement and the history of Ouija Boards.

  • Yellow Dog Village
    Sep 24 2024

Yellow Dog Village is an abandoned company town in the outskirts of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The residents left abruptly, and a lot of their personal items remain in the homes today. For this reason, the houses themselves stand as a sort of time capsule and a visual representation of the lives lived there. Paranormal investigations have been held on the property, resulting in unexplained happenings that give the town the reputation of being quite haunted. Listen to hear about my experiences exploring the homes of Yellow Dog Village.

This episode also has a bonus topic in honor of the Warren's PARACON coming to Gettysburg September 27th-29th. You can hear about a few of the haunted objects in the collection of Ed and Lorraine Warren.
