  • Today I have a conversation with Mel Litter, an expert in community development with a unique perspective on creative economies and other community impact solutions. Mel Litter is CEO of Elemental Impact Solutions with over 35 years of experience in strategic financial planning; real estate acquisition and development; non-profit operations; and local government. She began her community development and finance career while in Vermont, assisting with site selection analysis for the Burlington Community Land Trust and serving as Environmental Planner and Assistant Assessor for the Town of Shelburne where she also assisted in the creation of the town’s State Comprehensive Outdoor Recreational Plan and designed a local park. 

    Mel’s community service work has included 12 years as a Parks and Recreation Commissioner for the Town of Wayland, MA as well as in a variety of school and non-profit organizations.  After moving to  Maryland in 2009, she served on the finance and fundraising committees for the Harford Land Trust.
