  • Why Do Students Struggle in Mathematics?
    May 20 2022

The first episode of this podcast talks about the question for everybody "Why do students struggle in mathematics?" As an educator, I have students that view math negatively. Most students consider mathematics the most challenging subject, particularly at the high school level. They quickly give up when solving challenging problems. They get frustrated when they make mistakes on the problem. Therefore, they do poorly on assessments, are unmotivated, and fail the class. To explore this issue, I interviewed a student at one of the high schools in Central Valley to discuss his challenges in learning mathematics and unfold the primary source of his negative perception of mathematics.
