On this episode of the podcast, it's another episode from the old podcast My Celluloid Heart Podcast that was originally released on July 29th, 2022, Phillip and his cousin Chip dive deep into S. Craig Zahler's Dragged Across Concrete. They start the show by giving respect to David Warner who passed away a bit ago, RIP. It's then time for a small correction from a couple of week's ago. Then they talk about all the main information of the movie. Phillip and Chip then talk about who they would recast in the movie, if they made it today. They read some Listener Opinions about the movie from Instagram. It's then time to walk through the movie and talk about their favorite parts. They then give their reviews of the film and do a wrap up. Afterwards, Phillip gives his Phil's Film Favorite of the Week; Man of the West (1958) (Criterion Channel). It is a great discussion like always.

  • Swingin' on a Star: Hudson Hawk (1991)
    Jan 10 2025

On this BONUS episode, Phillip and Chip talk about one of their favorite movies. This was an episode of their old podcast My Celluloid Heart Podcast which aired on May 12th 2021. This is not quite a Tarantino liked or recommended movie, but it is Tarantino adjacent. It was their 100th episode. They start the show by making corrections to the last episode. Then Phillip tells a story about how he planned a robbery like Hudson Hawk back around the time that this movie came out, but never pulled it off because he couldn't figure out what song to sing. Haha. Then they dive into the 1991 Bruce Willis passion project that is Hudson Hawk. They read listener opinions on what they think of the movie and they sprinkle in some facts about the movie throughout. This movie may not be everyone's favorite, but Phillip and Chip like it a lot. Hope you enjoy.

  • Sweet Revenge: Nevada Smith (1966) & Murphy's War (1971)
    Jan 3 2025

This is a rerun of an episode that Phillip recorded on February 27, 2019 for Phil's old podcast My Celluloid Heart. His dad joined him in person on the podcast and they had watched 3 movies, but he zoned out and was getting tired while watching Once Upon a Time in the West. So they only talked about Nevada Smith (a Quentin favorite), and Murphy's War. Phil starts the show by talking about movies his dad has seen, and then they dive into a deep discussion about Nevada Smith and Murphy's War. Throughout they also discuss if revenge is a good thing or not. At the end of the podcast Phillip talks about Once Upon a Time in the West. Thanks for listening.
