Are you struggling to hear God's voice?

Do you want to dive into His Word every day, yet find your faith often sidelined?

Do you wish you were a part of a community of faith-filled women growing in their relationship with Jesus?

Interested in Greek word study in the Bible?

If so, you're in the right place ❤️

Hey Y'all! I'm Paula Behrens, a pastor and devoted servant of God. For over three decades now, I've been on a faith journey, wrestling with the consistency of my quiet time and sometimes wondering if it's God's voice I'm hearing or just my own thoughts.

It was through life's valleys that I discovered the power of integrating spiritual disciplines and God-designed aromas into my daily walk. These practices have kept me grounded, enabled me to better hear His voice, and deepened my connection with Him.

In this podcast, you'll strengthen your faith with weekly memory verses, enriched by Greek word studies. Refresh your spirit with daily devotionals and start your day with prayer, complemented by essential oils crafted by God to help you slow down, sharpen your focus, and hear His voice more clearly.

I've learned that to grow in faith, a few key ingredients are needed: Regular time in God's Word, a supportive community of not only faithful, but seasoned believers, and the confidence that you are exactly where you need to be.

So, if you're ready to:

✨ Find friends who support your journey with God.

✨ Connect with believers who have walked this path before.

✨ Gain rock-solid assurance in God's divine plan for your life.

Guess what! This podcast is your go-to support team 🫂

No fancy outfits required—just bring your coffee, tea, or favorite beverage ☕, settle in, and let's relax into a bit of soul-nourishing conversation, along with a few calming aromas to enhance your spiritual journey.

Ephesians 3:20-21

"Now to Him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

You are truly loved!

  • 126 | When Yesterday Still Speaks: Gentle Healing for Wounds You Didn’t Know You Carried
    Dec 18 2025

Imagine your hardest spiritual moments not as signs of weak faith but as your body's way of signaling a need for safety before your heart can truly hear God. Our conversation crafts a compassionate path for Christians who love Jesus yet struggle with pray, feel uncomfortable in silence, or procrastinate about quiet rhythms that “should” bring peace. We’ll share a lighthearted sunrise-service story involving some enthusiastically mooing cows and transition into discussing how memory, biology, and Scripture come together in spiritual formation.

We'll explore the difference between true peace and familiar comfort, helping you understand why discomfort doesn’t always signal danger and why comfort isn’t always a confirmation of God’s will. By embracing Christianity's rich use of the senses—such as incense, anointing oil, bread, and wine—we delve into how God uses embodied practices to anchor truth within us. Discover how the limbic system reacts to scent, why a single mindful breath can soften triggering instincts, and how essential oils and aromatherapy can support emotional release without revisiting trauma. This isn’t bypassing Scripture; it’s engaging with how God designed us to rest in Him.

We’ll also touch on the Greek word, anamnesis (ἀνάμνησις)—an active, identity-shaping remembrance in Christianity. Far from simple nostalgia, it's an embodied way to let Christ’s life, death, and Resurrection reshape our narratives. When we pair aroma with the Word and prayer, our nervous system starts associating God’s presence with safety, transforming Scripture from feeling like pressure to bringing peace. This shift can change how we perceive our quiet time, turning it into a place of calm rather than stress and making prayer readily accessible.

For those ready to breathe and to let God reinterpret what your body remembers, this conversation is especially for you. Subscribe, share with a friend in need of biblical encouragement, and leave a review to help others find this show. If guided help is what you seek, consider exploring a Faith Coaching session for a customized rhythm of peace and spiritual growth.

  • 125 | Navigating Past Wounds: How to Practice Grace in Difficult Relationships (Philemon Bible Study)
    Dec 15 2025

Find the full episode here >>> LivingOnPurposeInChrist/blog

What if the most powerful witness of your faith happens far from a platform, inside the ordinary places where forgiveness costs you something? We open the letter to Philemon and trace a tender, courageous call to receive a brother not by his past but by his union with Christ. From Paul’s house arrest to Onesimus’ transformation, we follow a thread of grace that reframes identity, reorders relationships, and asks us to let theology walk into our living rooms.

We explore koinōnia (κοινωνία) —the Greek word for the shared life of Christ that turns fellowship into partnership and participation. This vision pulls Christianity from theory to practice: absorbing a cost for someone’s good, extending welcome when resentment would be easier, and honoring safety and wisdom when reconciliation requires boundaries. Along the way, a lighthearted story about a goat in church reminds us that life is unpredictable, but God’s patient work in quiet hearts continues, unseen and unstoppable.

You’ll hear why small acts matter: a prayer whispered in a kitchen, a debt released, a door opened to someone returning. We raise the questions Scripture hands us: How do I respond when obedience is costly? How do I hold power with humility? Can I see a brother or sister in Christ beyond their history? If you’re longing for faith that feels real on Monday, this conversation offers clarity, courage, and a path to practice. Subscribe, share with a friend who needs hope today, and leave a review to help others find these stories of quiet transformation. Then check out our Bible Study Circle at EssentialFaithJourney.com

  • 124 | Looking for Shalom? Discover Empowering Spiritual Practices for Christian Women
    Dec 11 2025

Find the full episode here >>> LivingOnPurposeInChrist.com/blog

What if peace wasn’t the absence of noise but the presence of God woven through it? We dive into the real-world challenge of carving sacred time amid full calendars, restless minds, and family demands, then map out a gentle rhythm that actually fits a modern life. Through a warm story of unexpected calm, we explore how small shifts—five quiet minutes at dawn, a single verse by heart, a phone reminder that nudges instead of nags—can restore focus and joy with the help of devotions and essential oils.

Together we open Scripture and uncover the depth of biblical peace. Shalom (שָׁלוֹם) in Hebrew speaks to wholeness and harmony that fills every corner of life, while eirēnē (εἰρήνη) in Greek brings the power of restoration, binding what feels scattered. This richer view of peace moves beyond quick fixes, guiding us to invite God into interruptions, turn distractions into breath-prayers, and practice presence as we navigate home, work, and rest with biblical encouragement. We also tend to legacy: practical ways to share faith with children and grandchildren, plant seeds through short verses, and trust God with growth over time.

If your heart feels tired, there’s grace here. We offer simple tools for sustainable habits, from journal prompts, scripture memorization, and pairing devotion with small joys enhanced by aromatherapy. You’ll hear encouragement for seasons of doubt, reminders that renewal is received rather than forced, and an open door to community where peace becomes practice. Want to build a sacred rhythm that lasts? Subscribe, share this episode with a friend who needs calm, and leave a review so more listeners can find this space. Your next small step might be the start of a whole new way to walk with God.
