In this episode, Jay and Liam discuss how the Guess and Go strategy for life after high school is a terribly wasteful strategy for figuring out your career direction and the nine things you must know about a job of interest to avoid a regrettable decision.

Our unique format includes two segments. The first one is designed for teens and young twenty-somethings, and the second one has added content for parents and professionals who work with young people.

    𝗝𝗮𝘆 𝗗𝘂𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗱

Jay has spent decades working with teens and parents as a mentor and life coach. He started focusing exclusively on career guidance in 2014 after helping his son figure out a career fit while still a junior in high school. As a next-gen career guide, he helps young people around the world discover how they are wired for work and identify a True Job Fit, so they’ll be successful, motivated, and fulfilled in their careers. As a youth motivational speaker, he inspires emerging young adults to think differently about their identity, true success, and reaching their full potential. As an author and career-readiness consultant, Jay provides guidance and resources to schools and organizations who want to maximize their career guidance efforts.

    𝗟𝗶𝗮𝗺 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿

Liam is a next-gen (as the podcast likes to say) senior in high school who is currently navigating the twists and turns of finding a fit. Liam understands the struggles of career confusion and unhelpful advice given to the youth today. He teamed up with Jay to create the Life After 12 podcast as a tool to help his fellow peers. Here's a fun fact about him: he can speak Spanish and Italian besides his native English, and he plays three instruments.
