  • Growth Through Conflict
    Mar 19 2022

In this episode, Robert Feirsen and Seth Weitzman discuss their forthcoming book, From Conflict to Collaboration: A School Leader's Guide to Unleashing Conflict's Problem-Solving Power. Leaders in education often commiserate about the challenges of dealing with conflict in their schools and districts. Many lack the tools needed to productively confront tensions in their communities and consequently avoid addressing substantive deep-rooted issues such as inequity out of fear of sparking controversy. Feirsen and Weitzman argue for Conflict Agility rather than Conflict Avoidance and advocate for education programs to begin teaching students practical skills that will enable them to address conflict, for instance applying techniques such as Design Thinking that will also help their communities grow stronger together.
